See my above post. Checklists and procedures can, in fact, have a direct relation to both. This one happens to be an improvement, even if it’s a small one.
It’s probably a wash when you factor in lost pay. Any benefit or loss is probably negligible when you factor in all the other randomness that affects when you actually get to the gate.
This just seems like a really odd thing to get either bent out of shape or excited about. It’s impact on day to day line flying is about as much as a 3 knot difference in winds aloft.
