The jumpseat will go empty because the American Airlines employed gate agent has their manual on how to do their job. You can refuse a jumpseat rider as per your FOM but that doesn’t mean your book can make them do their job incorrectly.
Then it will go empty until the system is fixed. Or we'll figure out who showed up at the gate first. If the gate agent still refuses the D6 if they showed up first, then it will have to go out empty.
