Default Republic Airline Unilateral JS Action

Our friends at Republic have taken it upon themselves to not honor AA/AA WO priority for JS listing on its Eagle flights. All airlines are now fair game for priority based on check in time.

This should apply only to the actual JS, correct?

If one is listed as a D1/D2 for a cabin seat, then I am guessing there is no change.

How does one even list as a D6, anyway?

There are upset we don't offer them priority on our planes? They work for AA, Delta, United, and I'm sure others.

Meanwhile we wanted priority on AA Eagle flights only. This is asinine. Also super well timed as I start to commute on republic next month. Wonderful.

This should've been hammered out in the contract AA signed with them.

What they want is AAC FDJ listing. Reasonable request. But jumpseat wars never have any winners. They are seriously delusional to think this will end up benefiting anyone.

Republic Airways just leveling the field and adjusting to the AA priority rules.
Everyone loves some reciprocity.

Well done Republic for finally having the guts to adjust JS priority to the level set by AA and its wholly-owned.

Jumpseat wars are definitely not the answer, but I’ll make sure we accommodate every other D6UJ BEFORE a Republic pilot from now on. And just so everyone knows, if these kids list as AAC codes (to gain a higher priority), they are not allowed to occupy a FDJ even if they are eligible and that is the only seat left (it’s classified as a CASS and company travel violation).

Be sure to pass this on to everyone.

But they may not even fly AA code. So instead they get ****y and want to reduce AA crew on our own flights.

They get priority on their flights...but don't want us to have priority on ours. Total BS.

On the contrary, we have been honoring a non-reciprocating reciprocal agreement for years. No language changed in the agreement, we are simply now enforcing the language since AA and the APA refuse to on their end.

Correct, jumpseat only. Since we are not allowed to simultaneously list as AAC and D6, you will need to decide between a cabin or D6 listing as we will not be accepting any listings with FDJ on them.

You can list as a D6 on myid travel just like you would for the majority of the airlines. I believe that's typically with a generic AA login for the website.

Actually we only fly for the big three. With over 25% ownership, AA is the single largest shareholder in republic and our flying for UA and DL still contributes to AA's bottom line, yet we receive ZERO benefits from AA's ownership.

A reciprocal agreement means if you want priority on our planes then you have to offer us priority on your planes. All we asked was to be placed ahead of OAL's and AA and the APA refused to do that. Their excuse has always been the software can't handle it, yet they already have the AAC FDJ code in the system. So we will be reciprocating that same priority now.

It's a FOM change on our end. So even if the Gate agents continue doing everything the same, your risking a denial by the captain at the last minute.

it's not a war, AA has known about this coming for a while.
PSA's union even prematurely put out a letter about this a month or two ago claiming it was us making the changes all ourselves. But the reality is that AA signed off on this change.

This has been a continuous issue. Our pilots are being left behind trying to commute yet a JetBlue/SWA/Etc pilot has been taken in the jumpseat.

Remember last year when United try to force their regional partners into accepting a new priority chart that put UA pilots ahead of Express pilots... how well did that work out for them? They finally backed off before the starting date. If you want this changed, then talk with your jumpseat committee.

That's fine, taking that OAL guy is only potentially hurting AA's bottom line. And likewise, your D1 listing that typically is rolled to a D1 FDJ will not be accommodated in our jumpseat either.

Not even close.

We asked for our AAC listing to officially be able to be rolled into an AAC FDJ listing. The code is already there and the Gate Agent already has the ability to check CASS via that listing. This would put Republic, Mesa and Skywest pilots ahead of any JetBlue, Southwest, etc pilots (D6) who do not serve the AA system at all. On a AA flight, it would still go AA, AAC's, D6's.

All we would get is priority over "other airline" pilots, just like we do when we non-rev.

If I list as a non-rev and the cabin fills up and there is a fedex pilot listed for the jumpseat, technically he gets the seat, yet I fly for AE. We are not allowed to have both an AAC listing and a D6 listing, so we must choose.
