It's too bad that being on the Saab you didn't get to see the hotel we stayed at in Montreal for sim training on the 900 (La Tour Belvedere). It was terrible. I had a pipe explode and flood my room, a funky mystery smell for all three weeks, the coffee provided in the room is only as a "greeting" (they won't restock it after your first night), breakfast in the morning requires a ticket from the front desk and costs $7.00 (even just coffee isn't free), the internet provided is almost as fast as a 28.8 BPS modem, the paint on the walls is chipping off, the maid service is substandard, and the carpet is pulling up and buckled in most rooms. In fact, in my room because of a reoccuring leak, the carpet in my closet was covered in mildew. But, my favorite gripe about that place was that they had covered the cheap window-mounted air conditioners with clear plastic to keep the wind from blowing through the unit. So, all night you get to hear the plastic inflate and deflate like a balloon any time the wind blows outside. Just hope that the plastic doesn't have a hole in it, or you get to hear it whistle all night too. We stayed at the Staybridge Suites in Eagan during initial training, which was really nice. But, while the sim training at Bombardier is far superior to most other stuff out there, Mesaba's accomodations in Montreal are terrible. The only benefit was that the hotel is right in the middle of downtown and only one block over from Rue-St. Catherine (where all the good stuff is).
