I was a furloughee, the unspoken ( and shouldn’t need to be spoken ) rule ,while folks are out on the street should always be zero overtime , zero anything that keeps peeps on the streets one day longer than necessary till every eligible body returns to the seniority list . I was blessed to soft land into a 747 cockpit during our forced vacation , but some of our brothers and sisters really suffered during the 4.5 year involuntary vaca, we always need to look out for each other . Well, “overtime” is a very broad term here, as you know.
Scheduled overtime on day one and overtime after 12 hours should not be something looked down upon.
The pilot has zero power over that legitimately.
