Why don't you apply for an FO slot? You will get the upgrade in 30 days while in the ground school. At the worst case scenario you will only get the FO pay during training.
I did apply for the F/O slot.. I wouldn't like to make an attempt to street captain position without experience in company and aircraft.
May be they don't want to hire a high time guy .. Whatever the reason was , I got very helpful replies from the pilot group.
Being 40 I was chasing the dream of quick upgrade with better wages than Lakes. I guess it's time to look for some jet operators.
