While the hiring machine has traditionally slowed down around the holidays, all the signs are pointing in the direction of very minimal growth and attrition, at least for a while. The most current upgrade class on the CRJ has also been cancelled. So, I would predict a slowing in the hiring, and upgrade times to increase significantly from what they were 6 months ago. But as we all know, things can change very quickly, so let us see if the new years brings us any major announcements.
In the last 2 years it's been every three weeks, not enough classrooms and instructors. Basically they start Indoc during the last week of systems for the class before them. The next week they move into the two systems classes (as the class before them departs) to begin the 3 week systems portion of their ground school. Once they move over, the new hire classroom doubles for EMB 2 week ground school, recurrent, Check Airmen grounds and meetings during the two weeks of dead time it has between Indoc classes (the end of one to the beginning of another).
