I think it should be tiered- in demand degree at a four year public university? Free, with room and board and stipend. Other degree at a four year public school? Guaranteed subsidized loans for the entire amount. Private school? You’re on your own. I have no idea why we’re offering public financial aid to students at private universities when there are hundreds of taxpayer subsidized, good state schools.
