Distance is not the issue, when you have guys flying in EWR than drive from Connecticut 3+ hrs . If you’re within 2 hrs of any of them, just get there when you get there.
My point is, if the company really want a base in FL, they can open co-domiciles and that way they can increase flying in any of the airports they need to seasonally.
