Have an interview with Republic on the 17th. I preferred Mesaba because of fast upgrade and relatively easier commute from SEA. Republic bases are very hard to commute from where i am.. but it's a job.
Reapply to Mesaba. Mesaba will be hiring another 300 to 350 pilots in 2008. And the upgrade will be real quick especialy now that we have the flowthrough to NWA starting this month.
By all means go for the interview w/ Republic but you are right about Mesaba being a good airline for commuting. I commute and I've never had a real problem. I am told over 80% of Mesaba pilots commute and we have a commuter friendly policy.
