I've never had a jumpseater board last, unless the flight was full and they just wanted to stay our of our way. The flight usually closes 45 minutes from departure, they'll usually give you a seat and let you down first. That's what I've seen anyway...
The jumpseat pass tells you to board last. I'm sure the crew doesn't mind if you bend that rule, but as a freeloader, I don't push it.
