From going through it and talking to other upgrades at TK, if you have been on the airplane for more than a couple years, the short course is a hair too short and the long course is too long. My main complaint about the short course is the constant seat swapping as a paired crew. It is hard to get into a CA mindset when you spend half your time back in the right seat. The long focuses too much on new hire stuff (LOTS of time spend on basics, how to read a flight plan for example).
I ended up liking the short course, which is 18 day footprint VS 27 or something for the long, but wish there were more LOFTs. There are three and since you are a paired crew, one person may only get one LOFT in the left seat prior to the QLOE. Every IP encouraged requesting more LOFTs even if we didn't need them. With that said, I have heard 756 school is a whole different beast than Airbus school.
If you are put into the short but want the long, email JC and he will swap it for you no questions asked. Hope that helps.
Who or what is JC to email? I think the long course is the way to go. Might be longer but you get enough sims under your belt. Thanks for the info!
