Every time I fly with a captain who says they had choices but came here because the “fun atmosphere was worth the lower pay and qol”, and “I’d rather be productive and fly 850 hours a year to earn what my peers do”, I want to scream. This is a great company with lots of advantages, but don’t use that as an excuse for not having the nads to fight for industry standard.
Hopefully the change in demographics will be enough in the next contract to get serious and settle an industry leading contract quickly.
Fingers crossed that the demographic is changing, but I will not be holding my breath.
