Do me a favor: while I'm out there, instead of calculating what your $280-$350/hr will get you in the de-ice pad, could you maybe step back and say a few words to the passengers while we are sitting at the gate? It goes a long way... especially with the 1st class pax.
Thanks.
Hmm. Time to bid left seat?
As for the PA announcements, most frequent flyers want to hear as few PA announcements as possible. As a commuter, I talk to more than a few frequent flyers and we're in agreement that we hate extraneous PA announcements. So no, the first class pax don't want to hear the flight time, gate number, temperature, winds, cloud cover, etc - if they want that information, they know how to use their cell phone. And please, NO calling out landmarks at 35K feet - they're just specks on the ground anyway.
The once/twice a year flyer may be enamored by a bunch of PA announcements but frequent flyers just want us to get them to their destination safely and as close to on time as possible.
