Tell them how it’s good trade off to protect the highest paying seats by allowing more feed with an unspecified number of 76 or 90 or 100 seat RJs for our Express co-workers. They need these field trips to tailor the next steps of the sales job for a TA that’s probably already done.
I hope I’m wrong. It’s happened once before.
Keep in mind, a good chunk of those "WB guys" are also very junior FO's (ie.. Post Merger New Hires) on reserve who get the ****ty trips to LHR.
Not saying that a sell job won't come at some point.. but since we don't have a TA in sight (at least, none that we know of), the P2P spin up may (hopefully) be a way to talk to the pilots and "remind" them that we don't have a contract yet even, after 2 yrs of negotiations, and to Fly Smart.
I honestly don't think that there are enough "senior WideBody" guys to sell out scope just so they can stay on the top of the pyramid.
One only has to look over at Delta and see what JV's do.
Please explain to me the scenario where the union puts out a TA that sells out scope on the bottom end while just keeping scope on the top end the same? Makes no sense.
Now, if we had bad scope on the top end and were losing International WideBody flying.. you might have a point. But the exact opposite is true. We have strong scope on the top, and seems on the bottom too.. and we are growing our widebody fleet and our international destinations.
What is this 'Trade off' you speak of?
Seems guys are fishing to why the union is trying to put out comm. And slamming the union for thinking out of the box in a way to get to other pilots besides just meeting in the domiciles. I for one welcome this announcement.
But I too believe we may be a year or 2 away from a TA. Hope I'm wrong but time will tell.
Always

Oh, and FS, FP & FtC
PS) There is also a fair amount of 75/73 flying that goes to HNL. So it's not a widebody target audience~
