I flew with someone from training the other day and we had a discussion about staffing. He told me that they had meetings that addressed the attrition and difficulty filling classes. The plan he explained to me has Comair allowing attrition to catch up with the operational need of the company. We are still interviewing, but classes are on hold until further need and at a loss of about 30 pilot/mo., the 'new hire class freeze' would continue until we are at adequate staffing levels where hiring would start again to offset attrition.
The furloughs are probably going to be in line MX and the FA group as there is little attrition there.
