You are absolutely right. We in aviation have a horrible habit of eating our young.

The only way this will ever change is if the company decides that they want to do it because they aren’t getting enough good applicants, or too many are leaving, or whatever other reason they might have... And even then, I am sure that the rest of us will insist on getting more before the “newhires” get any.
