The only argument that one could make (and it would be pure conjecture) is that the company needed to nail its costs down before taking on new flying contracts.
What this whole ordeal has to do with ALPA at SkyWest is beyond me. Being awarded this contract is likely due to our west coast presence (IMO that's where these birds are going) and our ability to get the airplanes out of Brazil the fastest. I'm not sure how many, if any, slots Envoy still has, but I know OO has 100 orders with 100 options that have been hung on to.
