Nato 5.56 is great but only for what it was intended for...
Light enough to carry lots of it, suitable for wounding the enemy at long ranges on the presumed battlefields of Europe. At a distance you don't have to stop them, just wound them, and then you've created a WIA logistical drag for the enemy, taking more soldiers out of the fight.
