his reasoning for taking the CAL contract was to get a foot in the door so he can get 70+ seaters flying for them. and AA is one of our better paying gigs.

Yeah, that would be a huge cluster training event. I'm assuming that you'd have to furlough all the junior pilots on the 170 to make way for the senior 145 FOs to come over. Also, it'd have to be sold in its entirety since RAH or RAH's owners can't operate an airline on a separate seniority list. I know he wants out of the 50 seat game, but I can't see how it would make sense as a business move.
