Good luck getting CAL to release their 50 seat jet scope. CAL already has their 100 seat jet. It's called a 737-500 and they have over 60.

plus we'd then have to retrain at least 800 pilots all at once.

BB is too smart a businessman to incur such a cost for no real benefit
Yeah, that would be a huge cluster training event. I'm assuming that you'd have to furlough all the junior pilots on the 170 to make way for the senior 145 FOs to come over. Also, it'd have to be sold in its entirety since RAH or RAH's owners can't operate an airline on a separate seniority list. I know he wants out of the 50 seat game, but I can't see how it would make sense as a business move.

I'm just gonna throw this one out, if CHQ is spunoff, does anyone think a Comair/CHQ merger may happen being that CVG is big for both them?
Yeah different equipment and a regional merger is out of the ordinary, just curious.

Not a chance.......Republic buying Comair is as close as you will come to Comair and CHQ "merging."

The whole reason Republic would even consider spinning off CHQ is because CHQ flies solely 50-seat aircraft, a dying entity (many are saying) with oil as high as it is now. CVG really has nothing to do with it. The only reason either have a big presence in CVG is because that's how Daddy "D" wants it.

CHQ is still a ticket and those are worth gold. 50 seats are going to be around for a long while. Be it jets or T-props. So long as someone is paying for them we'll fly them.

not a chance in hell the pilots would go with the planes....as a holding company and 1 seniority list, i don't see how that would even be possible without a major lawsuit, of which the company would lose

This is a new one on me...won't happen though. As stated above, a series of lawsuits would result that even a night school dropout could win.
