I said the fed has not suspended anything. I also said the local FSDO could *advise* DPE's not to do checkrides.
There is informal coordination with local FSDO's, or at least there was in my town when I ran a flight school.
I can assure you I know exactly how it works.

Not sure how this comes into the discussion at hand, but you are behind the times. AFS-600 is the Designee Branch and all designees are appointed and handled by them. This is why DPE boundaries were removed with many other changes.
