My point was merely that if you’re expecting to still receive a paycheck as a result of this grant after taking VLOA/TOWOP then you’re probably going to be waiting for something that isn’t coming. I agree that the company is pushing LOA programs in order to pocket a greater sum of the money and in a perfect world maybe it allows them to stretch it a bit further. That said, anyone who thinks mass numbers of people taking a VLOA will have any effect on whether or not there are furloughs in the Fall is misguided. It’s pretty simple, if demand looks like it will be rebounding, we all stay. If it’s still a dumpster fire, some or all of us will be furloughed. It doesn’t matter if 1 or 1000 offer to take a VLOA over the summer.
