Good Spot
Mesa is in good spot folks. Mesa will be getting its “own” piece of the $25 billion in grants to pay our payroll. We don’t need to depend on the trickle down of AA or UA. This puts us in a good spot, I can’t speak for Skywest or Republic or the wholly owneds’ Mesa is currently putting in an application for access to some of the $25 billion in “loans”. That’s how it works. Also the government has asked for last year's payroll from March 1, 2019-September 30, 2019, based off Min guarantees during that period. This is how we will be getting paid. That is what guaranteed from our government. So if your union or company Ask you to take less than this. Hard No. You should at least be getting the minimum guarantee of your contract the government is footing the bill; the company does have the right to ask you take less. We save our save our share code partners money by being able to independently pay our salaries through the government bailout and we own a good chunk of our aircraft. Not sure how this is going to pan out for the other regionals, I hope well for them also. Importantly hold the line on the guarantee. Even if AA and UA reduce the flying the flying. We can do less flying and stay within the scope limits but federal government is still paying you the minimum contracted guarantee, don’t get the two confused. Our pay from March till end of September is backed by government.
