But this is a forest/trees situation. I hope the airlines survive at this point. AWAC, UAL, etc. I’m not for waiving the contract for the company’s sake at this point (or any). But let’s look at the big picture — there are no people flying on airplanes because they are scared and the government has made it illegal. You can’t have a business case for this scenario. The government trough only gets you so far.
I don’t think people are scared to fly there is just nowhere to go. The gov didn’t make it illegal otherwise all aircraft would be grounded. I don’t believe 50 seaters will be gone. Especially at non WO because UA has no tail risk. Oil is at an all time low.
