One is a hub the other is a domicile! LAX domiciled pilots' trips originate and terminate in LAX, either with live legs or deadheads. ONT and BUR, I believe, are also considered part of the LAX domicile. LAX pilots operate the MD-11/MD-10.

OAK, like EWR, IND, AFW, and, soon, GSO, are considered hubs, but have no pilots based there.

757's entering flight operations this summer, the 777 maybe the end of next year or later.

LAX is somewhat senior. Any new hires would most likely end up overseas (we are in the process of trying to man pilot bases in CDG and HKG, before being able to hold LAX. But commuting is possible from anywhere, though, in many cases, not practical.
