The Abbott test can only handle one test at a time an takes up to 15 minutes for a negative result. It would be widely impractical to test an entire aircraft full of people, much less the thousands that pass through DFW on a daily basis, even at the reduced numbers. The Abbott test is a gimmick to be sold to individual doctors offices that can give a few people a peace of mind if they come in for a test after this is all over.
And what would you do with the plane load of people while they are awaiting the result? And if they are quarantined as a flight and one comes back positive, what do you do with all the others in same room once a positive test comes back? Cancel the flight? It just doesn’t work.
They would need a lot of those Abbott machines. Those tested in the past week wouldn't need another test. Not saying this is feasible but if they could pull it off it might encourage people with health concerns to fly again.
