Seriuosly ? Did someone not understand that UPS did not furlough due to the 9/11 events ? Yes, technically the 2010 furlough was "post 9/11" chronologically, but it was not as a result of the airline contraction after the terrorist attack. UPS furlough was entirely unrelated to 9/11.

I suppose the accurate statement would be that UPS did not furlough as a direct result of 9/11, although they did threaten to furlough shortly after 9/11, it never transpired. Later when the economy went into recession in 2008, there was a furlough in 2010 due that and to other conditions (age 65, parking 3 man jets, etc).

Should we consider the thousands that will be furloughed from the passenger airlines in 2020-21 "post 9/11" ? I'm guessing these will be referred to as post-pandemic .. even though still chronologically "post 9/11" ...

Clear as mud ? I think I confused myself ... and I was even furloughed post 9/11, just not by UPS ! That threat came MUCH later
