Disagree - ups furloughed for one reason only - FedEx’s 4a2b ’pay-cut clause envy’. When Fedex imposed a mandatory pay-cut on their pilots - in accordance with their contract, aka clause 4a2b - ups salivated and wanted the very same provision. Of course, they’d make ours permanent! The union told them to pound sand.

All of our cost saving measures through the MOU were pointless and we knew it. Most of us participated to prevent furloughs but deep inside we knew ups would furlough unless they got what they wanted - a similar to fdx pay-cut provision in our contract.
