Take me for example. I’m right on that 2500 cusp that most people here think will constitute the UNA category. I just lost landing currency on the 7ER. So no workie for me until the bid closes. I’ll probably be assigned UNA. Maybe I convert in Jun/Jul, maybe later...still no workie. Eventually I’ll convert. And then eventually I’ll get furloughed...or maybe not. Either way, I’m not flying and still collecting a decent paycheck. Now tell me, don’t you think pilots senior to me would jump at this opportunity?! Again I ask, how is DALPA not all over this?

One more scenario. Take the last guy on the list who gets a seat when the music stops. What’s it going to be? NYC717B? So this guy is probably going to have a suck commute to NYC on a likely lower paying seat than they now hold. And the guy one number junior to him is sitting at home in his underwear making the same paycheck? Crazy town!
