There's an interesting case being heard on the Supreme Court right now involving "faithless electors" from the previous Turd vs. Turd Sandwich Presidential election. Basically two electors who refused to cast their ballots as directed by their states laws and voted their "conscience".
That's a bellwether case: if the NPVIC gets triggered, get ready for all kinds of craziness. The good news is, it will probably stand a challenge: so unless you live in CA, TX, or NY, (and among those, only in a few cities, really), voting will be a completely pointless act.
Which, it kind of statistically is already.
