Well, hmmm no one helped me out when we went BK. I lost over 1/2 my salary in two yrs had to sell my house etc. nothing from ALPA or other pilots. I sucked it up and moved on. Then to merge and loose 3 to 4 yrs seniority. I feel for pilots going thru this, but we all no when we get hired at a major things can go terribly wrong. covid 19, 9/11 and so on. I think also the early out program if it comes will be nothing better than AA. Why would anyone take that? Unless in your last yr and you don’t want the airbus. Senior guys get 18 days off a month or more, Full vacation plus 270 sick a yr. full 401k. Plus occasional PD. why in your right mind would you take 50 hr early out with no guarantees! I will not vote for anything anymore that’s takes money or way of life out of my or your pocket. Been here to long and suffered thru a lot to get to the end.
Did you lose your job? Everyone took about a 50% pay cut who stayed on property. Why would you have been helped out by your fellow pilots? Everyone was in the same boat.
Losing a job in this economy is a completely different story. I’d vote yes on any help we could give a furloughed fellow pilot.
