Think of this also, 7200 pilots and I imagine the vast majority will be on mandatory displacement with no seat lock and/or reinstatement rights for 6 months. I'm thinking the powers that be may REALLY want to rethink this. If an average type rating (someone once told me this) is around $50k...if all 7200 pilots needed a new type that's $360,000,000 ! And with no seat locks...well...
It's a lot and I'm sure they are trying to minimize training as much as possible.
But 360 million is really less than two weeks of cash burn right now
