What I'm saying is that, rather than this bid being used simply to position staffing for summer 2022, perhaps they are displacing more than is needed with the goal of converting thousands of pilots to lower-paying positions with no intention of actually training them. Then, when demand rebounds, run another AE and then train pilots where they are needed. Pure speculation, that's all.
That was my assumption all along. So I bid highest paying position and assumed I would bid out or reinstate before I trained. Either way I wont be working for less. Sitting around for less seems acceptable for now. Early conversions could work in my favor because I was sitting on a lot of seat seniority that will be spent on category now.
