I know of the people (I work with people who worked with him) who started that fiefdom and they are long gone. The guy in charge down there right now is a great guy who came from Flight Check and ended up down there almost by accident I hear - but he would be welcomed back in a second if he decided to leave.
But I second what you say MXLG. I've been hearing now for a few years that AFS wants you GA ASIs out of the cockpits; further cementing the rumor control that KAFW can see the end of the tunnel.
