I'm going to end up moving from the front left quadrant of our cockpit to the right rear quadrant, on reserve before further displacements and likely ultimate furlough. As a commuter, you can bet I'll use APU to secure a commutable trip to avoid hotel expenses associated with a short call. Are your opinions going to pay for my hotel bills? Is reserve a choice? Are you going to put me on some list of people who need to be ostracized because my contractually legal behavior didn't conform to your personal opinion?
Again, mind your own damn business and I'll see you in the unemployment line.
I don’t believe aggressively picking up trips on reserve is what people have heartburn over here. Completely understandable as many will be commuting to reserve and like you said it saves a hotel etc. What is being discussed are the PPU trips that will likely be out there next Summer if we cut too deep and try to fly out of the staffing hole by flexing the UPA to its limits while pilots are furloughed. Lots to think about there but much different scenario from reserve APU.
