Guys and gals, this is why "I" don't block my schedule. "I" have nothing to hide. "I" can't tell YOU what to do but "I" would feel horrible knowing "I" was padding my schedule with pilots on furlough. Over the past three months "I" have learned that not busting my rear is a good thing and "I" can survive with 70 hrs of pay. "I" have changed my own scheduling habits for the betterment of my family. Zen

A friend who is a 787 RSV FO in DC has been flying non-stop since these cargo flights appeared. He said he has an 80 hour line in July as well. He was supposed to start 737 downgrade on 7/15 but they cancelled it due to the heavy demand on 787 right now. He is around 9000 seniority on CCS.

Im glad the planes are out there making money. Too bad we didn’t have any 777s sitting around doing nothing.

The company has no way of knowing why people pick up time or stop picking up time. Maybe my best friend got furloughed and I would rather spend time on my boat with him/her instead of picking up open time. Easiest way to get me back is to pay my friend to head back to work so that I have no one to go onto my boat with. The company doesn’t know and had no reason to know why people pickup/don’t pick up.
On a personal level you're right of course. Unfortunately that argument won't prevent a TRO/injunction against UAL ALPA. Some of us who were here for the last TRO have poined this out when the trough was filled by the company. As a pilot group we are somewhat bound to our previous pattern of behavior.

The 1% contribution that’s already been ratified does the same thing, does it not? The higher the monthly pay, the higher the fund contribution in dollars.

I can see whose ox is being gored by the hard cap suggestion.
I'm sure a 90 hour credit cap would be devastating to your way of life.

You lose all credibility when you make generalized shots in the dark (with such certainty). Why didn’t you go with 120 hours, or even 150?

Your premise is that lowering the CREDIT cap somehow equates to preserving jobs. It may or may not, I think the SSC would be better suited to speak to that. Are you a current or past member of the SSC? Maybe you should start there and bring some proof, not hyperbole, but proof. Better yet, why don’t you let the union speak for you.

Might have been wise to have a small vacancy bid to get some more bodies onto the 787 before this second flush bid.
