What regionals are they moving on to exactly? Employees of legit regionals don't just get 1000 PIC and move on. There are thousands of pilots that meet the minimums at majors and that's why being competative takes much more.
Then again if you believe that you're going to learn anything more than the minimum at ATP, GIA, etc you're sorely mistaken. Thanks for bringing down the industry so you can fly a shiny jet chuckles.
Some of them just want the extra hours to go to another regional, which really doesn't make sense to me. I'm not sure I would want to move from regional to regional. Other actually stay with GIA because they are happy there and have got really good seniority. And others stay for 2 - 3 years after upgrading so that they can be competitive when they start applying at a major.
