It should have nothing to do with politics, it should be about individuals, businesses, industries and governments taking personal responsibility. Carbon-credit will not solve the pollution problem because they make money from managing the credits, just like the cancer industry will not cure cancer because they make money managing it. But hey, it’s much easier to do nothing and just hypocritically blame others because they don’t support a political point of view.

I’m sure most of the “left” would be fully in favor of making people pay for the real externalities of their behavior. I’m not sure the “right” would do so, as they’ve fought so hard not to for decades.
