I’m not sure I follow. What do you mean place additions in ANC, PDX, and SEA? If they want a pure furlough it would be 100% reductions and 0% vacancies. They could do -200 in SF and -200 in LA. Are the bottom 400 FAs all in SF and LA? If they are, I don’t see how the end result would be any different.


On the pilot side, the whole EIL was outside the contract thinking. We had no contractual provision (and apparently this doesn’t count as furlough mitigation). That said, demand seems to have plateaued out at about 25-30% of pre-Covid levels. I don’t see how we can move forward without huge drastic changes. And a vaccine is no guarantee of getting back to normal. 1/3 Americans polled said they aren’t going to take it. Fauci concerned that 2/3 will not be effective for herd immunity. Vaccine or no vaccine, we are hosed for a long time to come.


Luckily we have 2 fleets. FAs are dual trained, we can’t be. That’s another reason their outcome is different.
