ATC doesn't care about it, otherwise a simple "recycle transponder" instruction would fix the problem 10 times out of 10, just like with incorrect codes. Occasionally I'll hear inquiries from pilots over the radio to verify ADSB is working and the controllers' responses lead me to believe that ADSB info is not shown on their scopes by default.
