Maybe their endorsement will ring more authentic if they say upfront that this TA will affect them less, if at all, before asking the most affected to vote for it.
I am one of the people that some people could say would be helped by the TA. I’m a relatively junior captain and would keep the CA pay in the right seat. However, I’m still voting NO on this. My reasoning for this was summed up by a previous poster, cant remember who it was. But basically the “permanent” gains made by this TA are minimal at best, and basically cost the company nothing. The “pros” vs the “cons” just don’t make sense to me. Dividing the group further seems counterproductive in the long term.

I also see a precedent being set by this, in that management will look for every opportunity in the future to seek concessions from the pilots whenever there is another economic downturn. Value the profession. And if UAL is not back up to 70% + by next summer, we are all screwed, as they will be in full panic mode, and furloughs will continue past the 2000 number. So I’d rather take my 70 hours at NB F/O pay than 35 hours at NB CA pay til I get furloughed. I have a backup plan, as should everyone else in this business.

Thats my reasoning and why I am voting the way I am. Not trying to sway anyone’s position. We all have one vote. Educate yourself and vote what you believe is the right thing.
