it does. Only those that get approved for LTD After Oct 2021 get 11K. That’s why I’m saying it isn’t much help for TI, if in fact there’s something going on with him.

A couple of things-
Keep in mind, NO First Officer will be able to get the 11k.
It's 50% of your rate times rate times 85.5.. a month.

This benefit allows every Capt to get the 11k. No First Officers.
Now, to be honest- it is still a raise for every FO.
But it still falls short! No 401K Contribution, only 50% vs. a higher rate, and then there is the Oct 21 start date.

With regards to TI. What happens to him if the "qualifying" issue is dated after he gets out of office?
Again- ask yourself the questions I mentioned. Put yourself in those shoes and think about that would happen if you did not have a current medical as of last Dec. Where would you be right now?

A WB FO would earn 50% of [$240/hr x 1,026 / 12] = $10,260 While on LTD if the TA passes

Not 100% true.
A WB FO on 12th yr pay will earn $10260... if they go on LTD in Oct 2021. If they go on LTD in Sept 2021 or sooner- nope.
Also, is it October of 2021 or is it if you go out on Oct 2021 you start collecting on Jan 2022. (90 Day Wait)?

Again, this begs the question- who and when does it happen?
If a 12yr WB FO has in issue in 2021, say Feb. Does his LTD start in Feb or May? And either way, still 8K.
Will they go from the current 8K or will it revert to 10.2K in Oct 21 (I think not)?
And what about those who are stuck at 8k if they are maxed out already?
And then lets talk about the 11k/50%. Is it Oct 21 that they go out on Sick Leave or is it if they go out on Sick Leave 1 July 2021?

It's great that the union is selling it as a 37.5% Increase in LTD Benefit Amount (Their own title)
The reality is something different.

This was addressed in one of the town halls. Ltd starts on date you go on disability. If you go on Ltd on September 30 2021 you get $8k max. October 1 11k. Tough noogies. If you are at 8k you stay at 8k. I think that is a bum deal, but better than keeping it at 8k for 10 more years (next contract).

The given reason was that there would be a funding shortfall if everyone switched to $11k right away so they need the time to build up the fund.

It was delayed until next year for 1 primary reason... they didn’t want a rush from those in mid/bottom 1/3 going on LTD to circumvent the MPG decrease all at once. Whatever the start date, this is an improvement we wouldn’t be receiving until a new UPA is negotiated... which is going to be years from now.
