Mature Gojet discussion

Mature Gojet discussion
Hey all,
I’m looking for a mature discussion on GoJets. If all you’re going to contribute are childish comments (IBTL etc.), please move on. I’d also like us to stay away from the emotions attached to how the TSA management went about creating the airline.
Now given the current state of the industry, would somebody who joins gojet today still be frowned upon?
What’s the QOL and culture like a Gojet? Is the management understanding when you need time off to get something done?
Is commuting really as bad as some say it is?
What's upgrade time like?
What’s the training department like?
For full disclosure, I’ve never been a really big fan of gojet, but right now, I’m facing a very uncertain future at my own airline, and I’m trying to decide if I should be looking at gojet.
Again, let’s try and keep the silly comments out of it.

I think regional airline pilots seem to greatly overestimate the amount of give-a-crap that major airline pilots and major airline hiring boards have for the whole Transstates vs GoJet thing.
Half of the major airline guys don't even know what a GoJet is. They know is some Part 121 airline that you flew an RJ at... just like any other Part 121 airline. The other half that do, don't care. Every regional is looked at as a "steal your job, outsourced worker, operate as the lowest bidder" type airline when you're looking at it through the eyes of a mainline pilot.
It really doesn't matter. Trans States pilots would like to convince you it does, and maybe it should, but in the end... it doesn't. People who lack maturity always want to have someone they can look down upon... someone they can feel like they're better than. A higher class citizen. If you're told by everyone around you that GoJet meets that requirement then it makes you feel good inside to feel that way about them even though they've never actually done anything to you.
As far as the rest of your questions, I have no idea but I'm going to guess that life probably sucks there. Depends on what you want to get out of it.

I wonder if someone is willing to keep a data sheet with all the info on gojetzz so we don't have these threads popping up every hour. Then the mods can sticky it and not have to deal with this. We can call the sticky thread "GoJetz for Dummies".

With the current state of the regional industry, I'd say going to GoJets is a gamble. Who knows if things will stagnate, or grow, or whatever over there.. God forbid, maybe one of the super qualified(first jet job) FO's over there will make a not-so-great approach into BUF tomorrow night.
As far as I'm concerned, they are just another low-bidder who will continue to pay their pilots low wages with terrible work rules.... I work under just about the best regional contract out there right now, but I am leaving the regionals as soon as humanly possible. If you go to GoJets, I really hope you have the same plan.
Would I deny a G7 guy a jumpseat? hm... TBD, but probably not.
Would I ridicule another CA for denying one a jump? Nope.
Good luck wherever you are at, sir.

GoJet might be growing and getting more aircraft from DL, but I can already see this unfolding into Freedom Fiasco No. 2.

Thanks for the (constructive) responses so far. I DO have doubts abut going to gojet because of what I've read here and elsewhere. What I'm trying to do is separate the internet hype and speculation from real life facts.

I have never actually met anyone who really looks down on Gojets pilots. Most of the pilots I know realize that the regionals were always intended to be a step for us and a chess piece for management. With that in mind, Gojets is a regional airline, and as such, has a substandard contract, as do all regionals (comparatively speaking, of course). If you are a gambling man (or woman), it may be worth the jump if the quick upgrade actually happens. Personally, I don't think I could do this job for any regional if I had to commute, but that's me.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

Fly wherever you want to fly but make sure you make your decision NOT based on what the upgrade time is but how long the commute (hopefully none), and how great the work rules are.
If you live in STL, ORD, or RDU and love working for a company that literally doesn't care if you live or die....a career at TSH is for you.
Otherwise seek employment elsewhere.
Also don't let people on a forum do your decision making for you...you're a big boy.
EDIT: Also don't be one of those guys who says they work for "United Express" or are too shame to put where you work on Facebook. Have some damn pride in your job....if you work for GoJet it shows that you're a professional when you don't have to mask where you work. Jesus.
