Was Delta bleeding the AA WOs dry?
Was United targeting Jetblue or Frontier pilots?
Was AA giving preference to Spirit or Commutair?
Was Southwest giving one particular group special interest?
Etc. etc.
If you can answer those questions, you'll have your answer.
anecdotally,
my NH class at DL had quite a few LCC/ ULCC pilots in it, more than I was expecting. If other airlines start hiring again before breeze gets off the ground, I could see them bringing in breeze pilots to keep them from growing quickly. That is all
