SWA,
Colgan is for some folks, and not for others. I am one of the guys that is OK with the company. Yes, I, like others, have their moments where they want to throw in the towel, but it isn't really that bad. It all depends on your attitude (and where you’re based – SAAB that’s for you). If you start with a horrible attitude, you will be miserable. I can guarantee you that.
Your times are a little on the low side for the Dash (from what I have been told), but there is a good chance that you could get hired onto the Saab. Who knows? But, I would prefer to see you on the Saab, rather then the Dash, because the pay rates are insulting for both FO's and CA's.
Another thing to think about is you might go to the interview and have a reality check and think, "Whoa, maybe I do need a little more time to develop my skills and abilities!" I don't mean for it to come across as an insult, but some of us have had that happen to us. No worries, there is enough of a pilot shortage to where you could go instruct a little bit longer and try again when you get another couple hundred hours. No shame in that!
Anyway, this job is what you make of it, no matter what company you get hired at. Yes, working for a better company flying a jet would be awesome. But, even SAAB would agree that flying a t-prop is one of the most memorable experiences of his/a pilots’ flying career. That my friend, I can assure you.
Good luck on the 11th. Let us know if you need any tips/advice on the process.
