line pilots are not able to have beards or goatees, the only facial hair allowed is a mustache kept well trimmed that does not go more than 1/4 inch below the corners of the lips

I think the reasoning for this rule is that if you have to don an oxygen mask the beard or goatee will prevent you from making a solid seal with the mask. Not sure if that is the reason or if it is just "professionalism"

a loss of pressurization in the saab at normal cruising altitudes isnt really a problem with o2, especially the short trips where we cruise at 6kft

the jet when you are up at 38kft is a different beast
