I meant as far as size and route structure compared to the 76 seaters. CRJ-900 could seat 90 without scope limit and is a 84,000lb airplane. FWIW the DC9-15 was 90,000 and the -30 was 105k. 737-200 was about the size of a 717 size and weight wise, again not that different from a CRJ900 or an E175. 50 seaters are dying and not really what we are talking about. I think DCI has less than 100 50 seaters (all supposed to be parked by 2023) while having almost 300 70+ seaters.
FWIW my full size suitcase fits in the overhead of a E175 or CRJ 7/9 and those planes have WiFi and meals on routes over 900NM just like mainline
