Back in the day, we all worked out an agreement that everyone got priority on their own metal. Maybe you should go back to that? Or maybe you can quit ****ing on pilots you perceive to be below you on the food chain. Last I checked, the only reason RJs exist is because Delta Air Lines Pilots sold scope in the 90s for a higher rate on the L10. You’ve been trying to put the genie back in the bottle, but still have the benefits of it, ever since.

Without RJs bringing your HVCs from podunk to your international hubs, your international flights would be very empty. You could eliminate the RJs and do that flying yourselves, but then you will all ***** and moan about crappy domestic flying. Or you could just shut up, let the RJs fly, and give the slave labor flying them (who create your profit sharing) some measly crumbs by letting them have decent pass benefits. Or you can keep complaining online for another 20 years, but that hasn’t changed anything yet, it just gives the rest of us in the industry to laugh at you all for your massive egos.
Don't paint me with that brush, I'm no ring knocking ego-maniac. I work for a living!

Dc-9-10 was 78 seats. 2 more seats than an rj 900. *Shrug* it sounds like you have a problem with RJs.
Yeah, I wouldn't want to fly an RJ if I got hired at Delta and it probably would be at a low payrate. There are exceptions of course, but we still basically get paid for speed and number of seats. Now what questions do you want me to answer?

I had other posts and points you ignored, you can start there, or not. You're not building any credibility here as a honest participant in the conversation. After a couple days I'll go back and answer one question I'll choose from your earlier posts in kind.

Others have pointed out, so i will echo, we already have rj rates in the contract so stop saying probably as if you have to guess. Who spoon feeds you dumbed down out of date information about the industry? I dont actually care, so don't answer, but you should have him spoon feed you where to find your contract in the ipad and how to find the compensation tables. Careful on the DOS, read the whole figure.

Secondly.
23000 pilots at regional airlines in 2011 or 2012, nearly all flying RJs. You're saying theyre going to stay at the regionals rather than come to delta even if we offered the same hourly, and the rest of our contract is the same? Thats what it sounds like you're getting at. Delta doesnt buy airplanes for recruitment. Sailing has pointed out Delta hired more pilots than any other mainline airline in the last 10 years. American has how many more 777s? We had 20, we dont anymore. We are loading up on A220's, im fine with it. I believe those classes will be full because of it. I believe pilots will stay here to fly our airplanes because we are here for the contract and the great QOL it affords us.

I dont know where you're coming from on your POV, but ive heard some similar things from mil guys in my regional new hire classes as well as delta new hire classes. They openly mock the RJ's and the pilots flying them, which is why mainline gets the rep they have with regional guys. If thats what you're doing, im not gonna stop you, i would simply point out the majority of pilots in the airline industry, because we love it.

If tomorrow Delta tells me the hipsters just made their intentions clear, they want to fly to Chicago on a two legger in a 1900 with no fa and I'm doing it with no autopilot I'm still here for it. Im here for it if its a cessna. I fly people from here to there under a great contract, thats what i do for a living. I punch my clock, i smile, i cash my check, i leave.

Which this is all things Cog should know at this point.

Its not about how obvious the fix is, its that many pilots at Delta derride small jets and can't fathom a world where they'd be "made" to fly them.
1. No I don't expect you to predict what the junior categories will be in the future, but I'd bet a CRJ 50 or 70 would be at the top of the list. No payrate for those jets.
2. You're right, Delta doesn't buy airplanes with pilot recruitment in mind. And I agree, almost every regional guy now would come to Delta and fly anything. I'm just saying that if the entry level position at Delta is a CRJ, the rate and the jet would be an impediment to recruiting. Minor point I grant you.
3. I'm not mocking the regional jets or their pilots. Sorry if it came across that way.
4. I agree, we fly jets for a living under a great contract for a great airline. Hopefully they're good jets we enjoy flying, but if Delta bought DC-3s but it still paid well, I'm sure we'd all do it.

I think I'll bow out of this thread. As a VEOP, I've really got no dog in this fight. Good luck to you all.
