Well it's not exactly a serious conversation, but hey, if they're just another regional/cpa/ffd/commuter airline then it's no threat to any major, right?
I think what happened was this start up wasn't taken seriously by anyone pre-covid but now its turned out to be kind of a serious proposition, and now people want to see them fail because they don't want the added capacity at a time when everyone is struggling to survive. I get that the added capacity and regional level pay doesn't exactly help "further the profession." but neither does a bankruptcy or concessionary contract.
I say let it play out. There are quite a few pilots who are on the street NOW, and are excited about this opportunity. If it succeeds it succeeds, if not, then it will be a first for Neeleman. Who knows what will happen
